An Event is the first step on a continuum of events, or what Rudy calls a "gateway."

An Event is autism-only, and may happen only once a year. 

​

A Program is autism-only, and more regular, structured, and engaging.

​

I also use another category:

​

An Inclusive Event or Program welcomes other people with and sometimes without disability. Is not autism-only, but still provides support for individuals with autism.

One way to think of this range of programs is as a "Continuum of Experiences"*
